Day 43

June 30, 2011, Thursday, Day 43

Man i've really been such a delinquent when it comes to updating my blog.  For the first time i've literally decided to skip an entire day and didn't even bother with day 42 and yet i do have some pictures from it, im just not sure which meal was what?!  Which is why, if you noticed, i put the date and day at the top of this post to just sort of somewhat help me get focused on where im actually at!  

I suppose that's also a short cut to saying that i may not be updating this blog on a daily basis.  Not to say this is a permanent decision, i'm just really busy at the moment and hardly have time to get here at all.

I woke up this morning and did a minute of bicycle crunches as well as 20 double crunches.  Got myself together and had this for breakfast...the last of my Banana Nut Crunch Cereal and some non-fat milk :)


For lunch at work i had this!


I guess you can't really see what you're looking at but thats some beef mixed in with some carrots.  I added some of its sauce on my brown rice and also had a friend egg.  Why the fuck are fried eggs bad for you when they taste so good?!  I had to remove the yolk, ok fine half the yolk cuz i know it aint good for you.  But i did eat the Albumin...in other words, the egg white.

Im having dinner alone at home tonight, i know there's some left over in the ref.  More importantly, im excited to play bass and learn the songs i've got to practice...with any luck ill have some time to exercise there as well before im too beat to do anything but watch tv.

Day 41 - Not so back on track

It's Tuesday today.  Sometimes i get confused cuz all my entries just say which number day im on this diet and exercise but i never mention which day of the week it is.  Speaking of which, this blog ain't too easy to accomplish, although the goals outside of it are quite easy.

For instance, i've lost weight!  This morning i weighed myself at the hospital and with jeans, a belt, shoes and socks, a shirt and i weighed in at 144lbs.  The last time i weighed myself i was over 50 in shorts and barefoot.  Also, jeans that fit me well are now very loose for me and jeans that had gotten tight fit again.

It feels great to have lost the weight and gained the strength.  Im still not very strong but it doesn't matter, i feel like i've accomplished the task of becoming more agile.

As for my diet, i'm still following it but i cheat every now and then.  I reckon it ain't too bad since anyway i still am exercising...although most of it is done at home nowadays as opposed to using the office gym.  It's ok, not quite like before but not bad either.  At least i'm getting the work done and not completely slacking off.

Day 37 - Friday Night to Day 40

Wow where do i begin?  It's been 4 days since i've written in my blog and i can tell you that a LOT has happened!!!  And i mean, A LOT!!!!!!

Friday night i didn't go out so there was no booze to be had but i did eat.  I can't remember what i ate and though i have a whole bunch of photos on my phone that i can upload here, i have no idea whats what anymore..so fucking confusing to be honest.

Not to mention Saturday and Sunday.  But in an effort to stay true to the purpose of this blog, i'm going to upload a bunch of photos and try to state which meal was what.

Here we go!

Ok im not sure when i ate this but this is Patatim that was made by a great friends Mom who gave my wife and I some to bring home.  It was delicious!  And here i was thinking that Patatim was NOT something i liked...little did i know :)


Thats a Rhum coke.  I had 2 when i guested on a radio station and we all had drinks while doing the interview.  It was pretty cool but nothing like how much we drank the first time we guested on that radio program.  The first time we did, we got the host so drunk he was almost unable to finish the show...

I believe this was my Saturday morning breakfast.  Though it was cheat day, i had once been advised to eat a proper breakfast even on cheat day and then just cheat the rest of the day.  This was my first time practicing that.  If you'e read my past entries, i once had a banana split from Pancake House as my breakfast, so this was a big deal for me eating healthy on cheat day :)


I had this for breakfast on the morning wherein i attended a funeral.  It was early in the morning so there was no time to eat at home, these pastries were served after the final mass...Condolences once again to the family of the deceased.  We Love You.


This was the lunch that i had at the office after the funeral we attended.


This is champorado.  It was served at the office on a rainy Friday (?) afternoon.  Some fish was served with it but i didn't have any.  This was great on its own i didn't need anything else :)


Here's a peanut butter on toasted wheat bread that i had one early evening before dinner.
Lets call it my merienda :)


Oh this was the KFC i had with my Son!  This was lunch on Saturday!  
Does anyone know why it doesn't taste as good as it used to?  Could it be that my taste buds are simply looking for healthier foods?  Or did the quality of KFC go down?

Oh for a snack on Saturday i had a double burger meal from McDonalds!

This was Sunday's breakfast.  Cheat day was over and though i didn't really get to enjoy all the many delicious foods i've been missing, i drank countless beers and ended up really drunk.

So drunk in fact, that one of my bands played Fete Dela Musique at 1am and i can't really remember anything because i was too wasted.  There's proof though as there's at least one video on youtube of us onstage playing a tune...


This chocolate i ate was on sunday night.  It was given to us by a Danish couple that we got really close to!  Bye guys, we'll miss you and hope to see you again sometime, somewhere :)

Day 37 - Breakfast and lunch

So my day started really really early!  Had to set my alarm for 7am and was out of the house by 8am in order to catch a funeral mass at 9am.  That being said, i had to skip breakfast at home and had to split the house and actually just made it in the nick of time.  The mass was lovely and the speeches given were all beautiful and heart warming and i was touched and truly happy to be there.  As a matter of fact, i think my dead parents even came over to be with me as i was reminded of them repeatedly throughout the mass.

When it was all over, we said our goodbyes and quickly took a trip to the food station for a little bit of food for our bellies, this is what i had to eat at 11am for breakfast...


2 little cinnamon rolls and a butterscotch slice.

Delicious!  And boy what a way to start your day of food!

I finally made it to work at 12noon and had lunch at around 1:30pm.  It's friday so normally only fish and rice is served but check out what was in store for me when i got to the dining table!!!


Brown rice and a lot of vegetables!!!

Question for all, should i use a new phone that isn't being used in order to take better pictures?

Problem is, is that it's more fragile and not rugged at all.  Is it worth it to take the plunge or stick to this phone that just works so damn well?

What do you guys think?

Day 36 - Late Start, Late Everything

So because last nights work day ended at 3am, today began at 12 noon.  Not only that, but I didn't get to work til nearly 2pm, which in turn means that i must've had breakfast at around 1pm.  But i did have a breakfast of champions!  While waiting for my super supportive and amazingly beautiful wife to prepare it, i decided to exercise just a bit, while i had time.  This is what i did:

1 minute bicycle crunches
20 double crunches
10 single leg lunges with dumbbells each leg
90 dumbbell bicep curls
20 pour the pitcher movement dumbbell lifts
20 tricep dips
20 leg raises while inclined on a chair
1 minute plank
30 seconds side plank each side
1 minute full plank
15 seconds side plank with raised arm and leg each side
lunges with raised arm on each side with each leg forward

And when it was all done, this was the breakfast served to me!


A delicious cup of coffee, a bowl of oatmeal (no raisins) and a hard boiled egg.

My very first time to eat a hard boiled egg no less.  I actually liked it and am already looking forward to my next one. I like that its healthy and good for me and yet i enjoy the taste...thats a good thing.

Its now 4:10pm and i haven't had lunch but there's pizza and mojo's here from shakeys...here have a look


I couldn't hold my hunger and this is the only food here so i had one slice each of the meat lovers and of the hawaiian.  I kinda want one more, im still hungry.  But i don't know if there is any more...ill likely have a look after i complete this entry.  Ill just have to make up for it with further exercises later and tomorrow...

On another note, the pants that i was wearing last night during the shoot is now small for me!  I can't believe it, i just bought those jeans recently and they fit so well.  Now that i've shrunk, i don't think i can wear them again...so im back in my old black jeans and they fit well again...i really have lost some inches!  Woohoo this diet and exercise is actually changing my body and not just helping me feel more agile and lighter on my feet!  Awesome!

My wife picked me up from the office when work was done since it was raining and we were both hungry and though there was food at home, i opted to eat out because it was raining and beautiful and i didn't want her to have to cook for me and have to do any chores.  So, we made our way to Uncle Moe's for an easy and not so unhealthy dinner.  We'd been there fairly recently and had a hard time looking for something new on the menu that we hadn't tried yet, i ended up getting their large chicken sharawma!



It was ok actually although i expected it to taste better.  Maybe also its because it had a lot more vegetables than it did chicken and i was kinda looking for the chicken.  Especially since i wanted to order the beef shawarma but knew that it wasn't as healthy as the chicken.  But anyway, my wife ordered this and i had about 3 small bites...i believe they're called Kofta Balls...


On our way home we decided that we wanted dessert so we stopped by a station to grab some ice cream.  I know right?  If you're gonna cheat, miss as well cheat like a motherfucker!  But i was able to hold my appetite and had this for dessert instead :)


Blueberry Yogurt!  

It was delicious and i really loved it!  

However, due to the power in the air, i ended up needing more food so i ate a bag of v-cut.  Like i said, there was power in the air so i didn't photograph it but believe me, i ate the whole bag!

And then that wasn't enough so i then ate my ice cream!


And thank God i stopped at that because in truth i still wanted to eat some more!

Finally it was time for bed and my wife could not believe that i was still hungry so she told me to eat a green apple that she had bought instead of venturing towards something ridiculous like a peanut butter sandwich.  Again i didn't take a picture of the apple but i did eat the whole thing.

Day 35 - Breakfast, Lunch and the Night that was!

Wow i can't believe it!  I've finally caught up with my blogs and as i write this, i've actually just sorta had lunch!  But at least im writing on the same day and the shit im eating!  But it is Wednesday and i imagine to be out of whack in no time at all!  Hahaha!  Nevermind, at least there's something.

So because tonight is going to be a long night.  Were filming Ely Buendia for a new project were working on.  The shoot is scheduled from around the 6pm calltime to about 4am tomorrow morning.  Fuck man!  It's going to be a long ass fucking night!  But anyway, because of that shoots schedule, we went to work a bit later than usual this morning.

I woke up at around 1015am, quickly did a minute of bicycle crunches and followed it up with 20 double crunches.  Then my oatmeal was served in our dining room but was still too hot to eat.  So i decided that while waiting for it to cool down to a temperature my mouth can handle, that i'd do a few simple exercises.

I did the following while waiting for my oatmeal...

Tricep dips 2 sets of 20
Dumbbell curl 1 set of 80
incline chest press with dumbbells 1 set of 20
Single Leg Lunges 1 set of 12 each leg with dumbbells
Double squat 1 set of 8

And then my food was cool enough to enjoy :)


Naturally i put some raisins in there and it sweetened the taste nicely for me..

Headed to the bank to deposit money we had to in order to pay for the rent that we used at the beach over the weekend and then headed to the office.  I don't know why, but im in a good mood again.  I mean, im still pissed off about the situation with my son, still wish his mom had her thoughts in another place and time, but i guess i've come to further accept the shit even though i don't quite agree with it.

In any case, i'm feeling alright now and am smiling once again.

And then, lunch at work was served and it really put a big fat smile on my face!

FRIED CHICKEN!!!

Dude, i can't even remember the last time i ate Fried Chicken!!!  So freaking Good!!!  I forgot how good that stuff tastes man!!!  I really really enjoyed this lunch and hope for more to come :)

At the same time, i also do hope that i find more time to exercise, i miss sticking to a program as opposed to simply figuring it all out as i go along.  Cheers!

Here is the story of the rest of the night!

I had to go to a photo/video shoot for work to shoot and write about the behind the scenes of what happened.  Our calltime was at 7pm and we knew that we were going to have to be there til at least 3am, at least based on the last shoot that was done.  So, we got there and food was served!  Woohoo free food!  What was even better though was what the food was, check it out!!!



Those are photos of Jollibee's Chicken with one cup of rice and gravy!  And i just had fried chicken for lunch!  I know it's cheating and i really shouldn't be eating this but fuck me man how am i going to stop myself from having this meal when 1: it was free, 2: it was right in front of me, 3: the nearby places were all hella expensive, and 4: there wasn't much time to leave for dinner somewhere else as we were eating and then getting ready for the shoot.  So, i ate it!  Surprisingly though, i liked the fried chicken served at the office better than the one you see here...and i normally love jollibee fried chicken.  Strange.

Anyway, the shoot begins and after the second or third scene is shot, my wife (who was also part of the shoot) decided that she wanted something sweet.  We went to the starbucks in the building that we were in and didn't find anything worth it.  (i still dont understand why people go to starbucks.)  So we ended up going to a nearby Krispy Kreme for a couple of donuts!  I know this is really really cheating and i should really be avoiding this but i was convinced and bad influenced!  Here's what we ordered:

It was delicious and i remember a time when i could eat nearly ten of these fuckers!  For a few months, i would go to Fully Booked at the Fort where there was a group of people from Church Simplified that would start their days together with some donuts and coffee.  I was friends with some of them but never attended their "masses".  But what i would do was grab a couple of donuts every here and there and when the group would enter the room, leaving the donuts unguarded, i'd fucking attack those motherfuckers like there was no tomorrow!!!  Boy how times have changed since those days for me to simply buy just one of the simplest donuts Krispy Kreme has got!!!

Many hours later, probably around 2am, i was hungry again but luckily the host of the shoot had prepared some finger foods for us, this is the table the food was on :)


This time i behaved and merely had 2 tuna rolls and 1 lemon square.

When the shoot was done, and all the food had been eaten, i went home and powered up before enjoying winding down and getting ready to sleep.



Day 34

So we got back from the beach on Monday Night and Tuesday started soon after with work beckoning.

This was breakfast!

Banana Nut Crunch with Low Fat Milk :)


Then for lunch i had some beef with mostly vegetables and some brown rice...
..you already know that i don't like brown rice so i put a mango face in it :)


We then had a radio guesting and they were serving us drinks.

I had 2 rhum cokes :)


The 2nd one wasn't photograhed...i didn't get drunk and i stopped at 2!

At home, my wife wasn't there yet and it was about midnight.  Im quite useless at home without her and my starving hunger led me to only feeding myself this....another bowl of cereal...


When she got home though she knew i needed to eat as she could see that i was quite dizzy already so she hooked me up with 2 scrambled eggs and 2 pieces of whole wheat toast!  She's the best!

Day 32 and 33 - Matuod Beach

We left for the beach quite early in the morning, i'd say before 8am, and we got there before noon, maybe even before 11.  It was Fathers Day and my Son wasn't allowed to be with me because his mother doesn't believe in our needing to be together on Fathers Day going on to saying shit like it's not really a big deal blah blah blah bullshit!  So i was quite depressed the whole day even if i was with great people and in the place i love the most.





I'm sure i consumed a lot more than this but i guess i just didn't have the energy to photograph it.

On that note, here's what i had on Monday, the day after but still in the beach...





This blog would've been much much better if i wasn't depressed over missing my son...

Day 31 - Cheat Day

I've been really bothered this last week.  I got a girl pregnant over a decade ago and though things have been up and down with us, lately they're just fucked up!  I celebrate every moment i'm with my son but this chick somehow finds a way to enter my life and fuck me over and over again.

Every saturday is the day i spend with my son and every saturday is also my cheat day.  I was truly happy the moment is saw him but was truly sad the moment our day together ended.

Anyway, here's what i ate on this particular cheat day...

French Toast with Sausages for Breakfast...prepared by my lovely wife :)


I ate 4 our of the 5 toasts and only 1 out of the 3 sausages...

Then with my beautiful son, we had Shakey's for Lunch :)

We shared a pizza, one half hi-protein pizza and the other half a crazy cheese!

I only had one of the cheeses and 3 of the hi-proteins :)


Since im not a fan of cheese, i decided to eat it this way to taste it less...


A few hours later we went for dessert at Burger King and each had these...



Our day together ended fairly soon after that and i made my way to the Met to watch Wolfgang!

I must have had at least 8-10 Tanduay's with  Coke but did not photograph a single one.  There was no bartender and in fact there wasn't supposed to be any smoking or drinking allowed there but when a bunch of rock n roll folks hang out you gotta be sure that there will be lots of drinking and smoking, among other things...which we did as well :)  When the concert was over we headed out to McDonalds to get a bite to eat.  On the way, we smoked some more and ate even better ;)
