In the passed, our grocery list would consist of things like hotdogs, cans of corned beef, maling, pork and beans, a few bags of v-cut, chocolate, ice cream, eggs, cereal, milk, milo, pork, beef, chicken, some vegetables and other greens and the usual good stuff.
Last night was a completely different story. Not only did we buy a whole bunch of other stuff, we were looking at the fine print and reading shit like the amount of calories in this and the energy in that and the fat over here and the protein and carbohydrates there and it was crazy doing that for the first time in our lives!
In the end, we bought shit like, freakin 4 brown eggs instead of a dozen large white eggs, whole grain cereal instead of Frosties, half a dozen apples, half a dozen pears, mixed fruits in styrofoam pack, lots of tuna and sardines, low fat milk instead of what we usually get, yogurt, and a whole lot of greens and other vegetables. Oh and chicken breasts instead of just chicken. No chocolate, no ice cream, no chips, at best we got a pack or two of sky flakes and some oatmeal cookies but even those are whole grain cookies. Crazy stuff! But even though i dont know the ins and outs of this yet, at least i know that im consuming less calories in total :)
Here are 2 photos of our groceries :)
